NONSENSE ABOUT STEROIDS BY STEVE AKA THE BODY GUARD

01 Steroids do nothing to affect your dog’s ability, talent or gameness. As for a dog acting like a “maniac” this may or may not be related to the roids. Dogs can become very “difficult” when they are peaked correctly with no steroids at all. They start feeling very good about themselves, etc. Steroids can give a similar feeling of euphoria to your dog but don’t overestimate it. There is a drug that you can use on game day to give them this same effect if you are foolish enough to believe this is the benefit of anabolics.

02 There is no reason that the proper administration of anabolics will cause a dog to run hot. Better to look at other reasons for a dog running hot. Notice I said “proper administration”. If you do it wrong, well then there is plenty to go wrongin addition to running “hot”.

03 Some valiant warrior wanted to imply that humans and dogs alike that take roids have something missing “deep down” when it comes down to it. LOL. I’m a competitive power lifter and fighter too. And I’m clean. But I do recognize the false call and spoiled grapes of the drug free in attempting to denigrate anything accomplished while using anabolics. Well, you better get busier. Because anabolics account for most of your Olympic track and field records, lifting records, etc. A large percentage of baseball players, football players and some basketball player’s use. Stop kidding yourself and stop judging others. Take pride in your own accomplishments and stop trying to convince everyone that enhanced dogs or humans somehow accomplished less because they used roids. And, if you competed in powerlifting and “never lost to someone on steroids”, you haven’t competed much I don’t want to get personal but the cry of the drug free has always been a hollow one. It’s sour grapes. The drug assisted athlete works just as hard and arguably harder than the drug free athlete. If you disagree, I can post the reasons why. And a little known fact that I want to emphasize is that anabolics work better for those with superior genetics. I just love the drug free guy that has never accomplished anything saying that he could do this or do that if he only took anabolics. Chances are he could not do this or that unless god blessed him with different parents Please don’t take this personal ...its not meant to insult and I apologize if I did ...

04 Anabolics should not be thought of as a “game day” aid. Anabolics are your insurance policy during the keep. If used properly, your dog can work harder and recover from the workouts faster. It’s as simple as that.

05 Using anabolics doesn’t guarantee you bring the “stronger” dog. This depends wholly on the type of work you did during your keep. Anabolics do not magically make a human or dog stronger. The specific strength work needs to be done.

06 Just when I think I’ve read as many fairy tales as I can about anabolics, I read that we’ve got dogs dying younger because of anabolic use. Hogwash. There is not a single study attributing any death of human or animal to anabolics. Now, you can cause a myriad of problems by ABUSING anabolics. But remember, when we discuss side effects, we must distinguish between therapeutic dosages and ABUSIVE dosages. You will be hard pressed to find any long term effects from therapeutic dosages of anabolics for short term use. Don’t tell me about this bodybuilder or that. They ABUSE anabolics. Want proof of long term safety? Look no further than male hormone replacement patients.

07 Everyone tends to lump all anabolics together. There are dozens of different anabolic compounds each with different properties and different affects upon the body. To say that all steroids cause liver and kidney damage is just plain wrong. The simplest distinguishing factor (and there are others) is between oral and inject able anabolics. Inject able anabolics have virtually no affect upon the liver. Oral anabolics do but the affects are often exaggerated and the liver values return to normal upon cessation. Only specific compounds affect the kidneys and only rarely. Whatever the compound, kidney function, liver function, etc return to normal upon cessation of the drug if the same was not ABUSED. Even during instances of ABUSE, normal function often returns. And finally, and I’ve written about this before, your chances of shortening the life of a match dog from proper use of anabolics are slim and none. If you desire a more

complete explanation, just ask.

08 I want to make this a separate point again; you will do no long term damage to your dog from therapeutic dosages of anabolics administered for a reasonable period of time.

09 Some of the best conditioners today use anabolics and others do not. The choice to use anabolics

or not is like the choices between treadmills, cat mills, or road work. Kemmer always brought a dog in shape and has never used an anabolic. G always brought a dog in shape and used. Its personal preference. Both of these H&C are examples of so called “fast lane” doggers but someone made a terrific point; what the hell is “fast lane”. LOL. At the end of the day, there is only winning and losing. “Fast lane” is a bunch of bullshit. Some of the worst doggers I have ever seen can wager $50,000 on a match and some of the best I’ve seen cannot do more than a couple thousand. Competition is where you find it, not for how much. Someone started a post on another board more than a year ago trying to define “fast lane”. But I still can’t define it for you.

10 Not all anabolic compounds are created equal. Some I would never recommend for human or dog.

11 I’m losing my trend of thought so let me end it with this; anabolics will provide a conditioning edge. I like to think of it as an insurance policy against overwork. One of the worst things you can do to a human or a dog is overwork. Depending on how far you went over that cliff into the realm of overtraining, it could take days, weeks or even months to get back to normal. A good conditioner can bring a dog into the box in just as good shape and just as strong with or without the drugs. Remember, there is no suitable comparison of human endeavor to what happens in the box. To make the blanket statement that the dog on anabolics will always be stronger and in better shape is oversimplification and just wrong. There are too many factors on what constitutes being in good shape when a dog hits the box.

12 Bottom line...If you do not know exactly what you are doing, stay away from them. They can cause you trouble with moisture and weight. They are even more difficult to use successfully and properly with bitches. And lastly, it’s a personal choice like peak vs. metabolol, creatine or not, raw meat or dry feed, treadmill or roadwork, cat mill or treadmill and so forth. You want to use anabolics? Well then you can to that list of choices winstrol or deca (or any dozen of others)? 6 weeks? 8 weeks or 10 weeks? Dose? Stack? Effect on metabolism? Oh yes, one compound in particular affects the metabolism to a pronounced degree. I could go on but I’m not trying to be thorough, just making a point and food for thought.

13 Ooops...one more thing. LOL. Trenbolone acetate as found in Finaplex and administered by some with DMSO is not a rub!! LOL. First, it’s a piss poor way to administer trenbolone but that’s beside the point. It is not a rub. DMSO is known to give off a garlic type odor but if your dog is spitting out holds because of some garlic odor, I dare suggest you brought the wrong dog Or, and much more likely, he was spitting out holds for reasons entirely unrelated to the DMSO or trenbolone. This last item is the biggest fairy tale I’ve read in recent times and it seems to continue to circulate. I hope I have removed from your mind some of the misconceptions.

SDN: What bloodlines you started ?

ILARIO’S KENNEL: I get some dogs from Radonjic in Montenegro, they was sons of BAM BAM with inside great dogs like CH. MARSHALL (4XW).

SDN: Yes excellent bloodlines, has some animal at this time in particular that you liked?

ILARIO’S KENNEL: At this time i was young in sport and i no was able to understand the best way to take. I can say this blood from Jumbo rom are the best game ever i see in my life.

SDN: You had some sons of Jumbo Rom?

ILARIO’S KENNEL: I never get direct son of him. Only some work line blood from him.

SDN: Today what bloodlines do you work?

ILARIO’S KENNEL: Principally Red Boy but i have some from Snooty-Yankee-Disney.

SDN: What do you like these bloodlines?

ILARIO’S KENNEL: My Red Boy blood have some good characteristic, one of them are extreme bite. Snooty-Yankee-Disney i use principally for cross with my Red Boy.

SDN: Which their best athletes today?

ILARIO’S KENNEL: JERRY 2XW (CH ILARIO & PURE BLOOD’S PAN 4XW-1XGL x NEVENA 1xw) is a great example of cross Red Boy x Disney blood. He is young but he collects 2 victories in top competition.

SDN: In those 13 years that you participate in Game Dog what the best kennels in your opinion?

ILARIO’S KENNEL: In Balkan more kennels are and was in top list. But more rest in this scale only for one or two years. I can say with sure the kennels collect many victory are bingo knl-sirmiun knl-pera's knl-alfa kennel. Is very incredible but i think kennels like sirmiun and bingo collect more than 10 Ch. and also several Gr Ch. About modern kennels i must say best are scepan from Montenegro-Brothers kennel (Montenegro)-Beden & Kokani (Montenegro) this 3 are really dangerous opponent

SDN: The Balkans region is known for quality dogs, and we know it's hard to win away from home, especially if the Balkans. What do you think the kennels Balkans have that make them so difficult to be beaten?

ILARIO’S KENNEL: in Balkans level of selection is harder than USA or Europe. The laws make them freer then other region or states. So this help they to keep more dogs in easy manner. No so many dogmans come from out to match in EX YU. I remember the old captain ben, he meet in Croatia Ch. Camel from Serbia. Captain lose. After that event i remember the chosen few come and beat Smart kennel in Serbia with Gr Ch. Chilindrina. And come back again to meet Ch. Kid with his Ch. Lindo but lose. I think every country have great dogs, but who travel are always disadvantage. I work with dogs in Balkans and i must say thanks, but is also truth i never see one Balkan kennel travel so far.

SDN: Tell me about your top athletes, and CH ILARIO & PURE BLOOD’S PAN 4XW-1XGL and CH PURE BLOOD & ILARIO’S(E.P.S.’) ZUTA, how they came to their kennel ?

CH E.P.S. & ILARIO'S ZUTA

ILARIO’S KENNEL: CH  PAN  born in yard of my partner PBK, pan is indeed the best dog i ever see in my life. Best shaker and quickly to finish his opponent. He no look like fighter but like a predator. CH ZUTA are from Beatered kennel handled and conditioned from our friend EPS kennel. She are good one with a lot of great quality, she win 3 match in short time and after that take 4 forfeit and never get a match. I think CH PAN and CH ZUTA are some of best 10 fast line dogs from Balkans ever.

SDN: You could say who did their training, and how was this training?

ILARIO’S KENNEL: Me and my team we use a good food for trainer like royal canine energy 4,800 or barf diet. Our keep training is very classic: walk-run-swim-weigh pool, we no use treadmills. Off course we use doping, blood doping like EPO. But i use steroids only if i have dogs with no so much power and they need help. I must say i prefer blood doping then steroids.

SDN: Steroids which you use on your dog? Someone who must take special care?

ILARIO’S KENNEL: I personal put steroids in my dogs and i don’t believe from nobody in this side. In this many years i learn so good how to use them and i keep for me the secret.

SDN:  CH PURE BLOOD & ILARIO’S (E.P.S.’) ZUTA and pan faced many opponents, which are harder to beaten?

ILARIO’S KENNEL: CH  ZUTA finish all his opponent in short time, CH PAN  lose his 4th but i think in other condition was able to kill rhino. This night we lose us no CH PAN . But in sport all can happened.

SDN: Currently on Facebook and other social medias there was a boom ''dogmans'', people who are anxious to sell animals without being tested or without quality. What you think about that?

ILARIO’S KENNEL: I have open mind: i leave to peddlers continue their business. And the fighters continue theirs battle. I see many men build a name of kennel with 4 dogs, or think to be a dogman only to do 3 matches in all life. Modern dogmans are afraid to match in fair manner. They like be a start in forum and talk...talk in internet are free. They must be selling their dogs by Kilo, just like they sell pigs and chicken in the markets, just sell by kilo. More good people, but a rotten guy can lead the innocent astray, with the Web sites and talk nonsense. That's why I may seem a bit 'crazy in pursuing these vendors. Once you lose some battles are gone, this is their character. CURS. 

SDN: What is the best fight of CH  PAN  ?

ILARIO’S KENNEL: I dont have one i prefer, i like all of him because is my favorite. I think best match i see in my life are PBK& KORAL JORDAN 1xd vs. POZNJIAK RED RAMBO 2xw 1xd 2xlg. Incredible match with a lot of suspense. Was over at 2,40. Both dogs fast and hard. Amazing show...with dead game scratch from Jordan grandsire to CH PAN .

SDN: To terminate the interview something else you want to talk?

ILARIO’S KENNEL: yes i want say thanks to Mr. Radonjic for help with keep in this last years, to my partner PBK, i must say he always agree my side and help me in hard moment. Pbk is a real dogman who never dribbling one match for fear. Without this 2 person i never got this result.

Chavez’ Gr Ch Llantas is off Boudreaux’ Badger and Chip’s Gr Ch Nikita. In his veins are dogs like Boudreaux‘ Skull ROM, Pollock’s Ch Batman, Boudreaux’ Maverick ROM, dogs with unquestionable quality, excellent intelligence. Many say the only thing these dogs lack is the ability to talk...

It all began in 2001 when R.Chavez decided to buy a puppy. He named this puppy “Llantas” in honor of his owner’s work today. Something that Llantas showed early was his intelligence, a very stable character, and great power.

The Beginning

At 10 months old Llantas had a yard accident. At the age of fifteen months his schooling began. Upon reaching twenty months, Llantas was open to the world. We agreed his first match against when he was 22 months old against a dog named Rocky Marciano (2xw). We hooked at 50,7 lbs against a dog who “killed” two dogs before. During the show Rocky Marciano was always going hard for the chest, but Llantas always dominated. Llants kept him away for most of the show, but when he felt Rocky start to tire, he hit his shoulders until they broke. After an intense match that lasted 51 minutes Llantas emerged victorious. Rocky Marciano (2xw) died five minutes after the match. “Llantas throughout his career never was the favorite at this shows, he was always the dog that was supposed to lose in some way, every show was a different experience of which one will always learn from mistakes”, mentioned Chavez.

The Square

At the age of 2 years, 1 month Llantas was set for his second match against a dog named Bo Boo. During the match Bo Boo hit him hard on his legs. You could see the cartilage on his legs. After this, Llantas closed his mouth hard drug Bo Boo around the pit. The show lasted 23 minutes. However, Llantas took a lot of damage in only 23 minutes due to Bo Boo hard mouth..

The Championship

Four months after facing Bo Boo, Llantas was ready to go for his championship. Llantas was called to compete in Mexico. After a long trip to the Aztec lands the match was off! The opponent did not pay the forfeit so we decided to leave Llantas in Mexico as a show in Arizona was near. Llantas was used at this show at 51,5 lbs. Despite Llantas travels he was in very good condition. Llantas faced Red Jack. Red Jack was an opponent that went hard to chest. Red Jack hurt Llantas’ chest badly. Llantas was almost knocked out due to how strong was the impact to this chest was. Llantas weathered the storm, studied his opponent and not did not let Red Jack touch him again. Red Jack was a dog that could kill his opponents in one bite. This was demonstrated in his rolls as he finished 3 different dogs. That day showed why he was considered a very intelligent dog.

 Despite the strength of Red Jack, Llantas was never in serious trouble other than when Red Jack hit his chest. The black dog could throw off his opponent’s bites and attack at the same time. Red Jack always pushed very hard trying to get to the chest while Llantas went backwards beating and dancing at the same time to avoid him. On one of those occasions Llantas was riding while Jack drove very hard and when Llantas felt his tail touch the pit, he stepped to the side. Red Jack crashed facefirst into the pit, but LLantas did not release the snout. It was extraordinary!!! Lllantas did this a couple of times. Everyone in attendance could not believe what they saw. That match lasted 1:09 minutes. LLantas was now a Champion! Roque knew that he had something special on his hands and was sure it was all a matter of patience, dedication and time.

At Home

51,8 lbs is the weight that Llantas came for his fourth match. It was something special because it was the first one that took place at home in Morelia, Michoacan. LLantas only needed 52 minutes to get the the win and the Best in Show trohpy from Indian Sonny and Don Divine.

 Don Enrique Morfin was also in attendance, who years ago had gathered for the match of Bullysonand again fate brought them together now in Morelia, Michoacan, to witness the match of Llantas against a good specimen named Bobo. Bobo was a Guadalajara dog and he had 5 wins. That day was the best fight of Llantas career. LLantas intelligence was very important in this match. Bobo was a dog with extensive experience in the pit so Llantas had to be smart. Llantas worked well as he always had, hitting Bobo on the shoulder and returning to face to neutralize the muzzle.. After 52 minutes of intense battle Bobo quit. The people in attendace were astonished. It was a victory that left a lasting impression on all of the people present at the convention that day.

The Best Gift

October 9, there was no better birthday gift for R.Chavez than a victory from his black dog. On this occasion, the match would be in Uruapan, Michoacan. Mr. Enrique Morfin was in Morelia, but was not able to attend the match as his caravan was delayed by a flat tire. Indian Sonny, Don Divine, V. Romeo and Desert Rat were in attendance though. Lllantas was 5 years old at the time. Cachete (2xw-1XL) was the name of the next opponent for Llantas. They were hooked in 52,9 lbs. Months before the match, Llantas had suffered a dislocated a leg. So his keep was largely based on aerobics and swimming. No strength training. Cachete was a rough back end dog, however during the match he only once managed to reach Llantas rear end. Cachete was only able to stay in the rear end for a few minutes before Llantas picked him out by the ear. Cachete was frustrated at 21 minutes after never being able to overpower Lllantas. The show concludes with the winner to Chavez’ Gr Ch Llantas BIS - GIS.

The Family

No one ever offered to buy Llantas because they knew he was more than a dog for my children and me. LLantas has been the playmate of my son and a member of my family. 

A funny thing happened on July 4, 2001 when Llantas was only 5 months old. LLantas snuck out of the house and got lost. LLantas was lost for six days. LLantas was finally found on the sixth day. That was an experience that cemented Llantas with his family and he is still considered a family member.

CH HAVANA BOYS' JUMPING JACK FLASH (3XW)(1XL)

I received Jumping Jack Flash at the age of eight weeks old. I bought him along with 17 other dogs off of the Latin Boys. When I went to pick up the dogs, I saw Jumping Jack in a small rabbit cage all by himself. Of course that was not his name yet, but it was soon to be. He got his name, because he would not stop jumping around the cage. From that moment on I knew he was going to be a special little dog.

I started schooling Jumping Jack Flash at a very early age. By the time he was eighteen months old he had past all his tests with flying colors. He had the misfortune of being a small dog, becuase of this he always had to be rolled against a larger dog. But, he always came out on top. He was a true Game Bulldog. At the age of 19 months old I took him out for his first match which turned out to be his hardest match of all. His first match was into Gusto Boys' Hanable, which is a son off of Gr Ch Bronson. This fight went on for an hour and 39 minutes. Hanable, went toe to toe until he was picked up, and declared dead.

Jumping Jack Flash second match was into Island Kennel's Gizmo. This was a pure Giroux bred dog. They don't come anymore gamer than this one. The little Gizmo dog tried everything in his power to defeat Jumping Jack Flash, but wasn't as quick, or as experienced as Jumping Jack Flash is, or was at the point in time. Jumping Jack Flash, just out classed him. Gizmo was picked up in :58 minutes.

His third match was into The Jersy Boys' Little Bumphus. This was supposed to be a real good match, but it turned out to be his easiest match. Jumping Jack Flash came out buried himself in Bumphus' chest, and it was over in :26 minutes.

So, Jumping Jack Flash was champion by the age of twenty eight months old. At that point I figured I would retire him. I retired him, because we had lost his father Joker, a 2x. Joker was the gamest dog that ever lived on Havana's yard. He produced Hurricane Kennel's Ch Spooner a 4x, and Jumping Jack Flash. He also produced Havana Boy's Panama Jack 1x and was best in show. So, now we have Jumping Jack Flash to take on his father's position. Jumping Jack Flash was bred to approximately 10 gyps, and so far every dog that has come from him looked real good.

Well, all I can say for ourselves, The Havana Boys, is that we were the proud owners of Jumping Jack Flash.

GR CH FUNKY MEDINA'S PISTOL

The story of how GR CH PISTOL came about is as exciting as the dog was himself. Louis Hernandez bred NIGHT CAP, a double-bred daughter of GR CH ANDY CAPP, to MURPHY, a son of Jose's GR CH BULL, to create this amazing animal. Bean Town Kennels acquired the dog as a young pup, and for reasons unknown to myself, they gave GR CH PISTOL to F.M.K. at the tender age of 18 months old.

Talawa Lion and F.M.K. then went out to take a look at this new addition to their kennel. They looked at him against an inbred LANKY HANKY dog, that was 15 pounds bigger, and he showed real potential. At the 1/2 hour mark PISTOL showed that he was definitely a fan of the attention he was receiving, and was screaming like a wild animal when he was being led away from the show ring! Everyone in attendance could see that he had the body to win and the drive to get the job done!

His second trial was to be directly compared to a good son of HAVOC, a litter-mate sister of Jersey Boy's CH SARGE. They were looked at for nearly 45 minutes, and PISTOL was better than him in every aspect that there was. He had better corners, and was faster, stronger, and wanted to be a winner! The people that were in attendance knew that he was something really special, and was destined for greatness. "There are times when we see a very unique dog, and we don't need to see a lot out of him to know he will be one of the greats".

He was hooked into El Solo & Ming Man's MIGHTY JOE YOUNG, and this was to be the hardest test of his career. For nearly two hours it was nip and tuck, and no one was for certain who would be declared the winner. F.M.K. called on PISTOL to really show his best side, and at the 2-hour mark, the other side decided that they had enough. Going against a dog like PISTOL can make or break a dog's career as a show dog, and in this case it was a career ender!

Cull Hard Kennels decided that they had one for PISTOL, and it was set that MAD DOGG was to be just that one! Well, they guessed wrong, and in just under an hour MAD DOGG called it quits. PISTOL was his arrogant self, and was screaming dog obscenities!

Lockjaw Kennels was to be next, with their dog ELLIS. Once again, this was supposed to be the dog that was tailor-made to defeat PISTOL, but he was to be the easiest for PISTOL to defeat! PISTOL ran circle around him, and it was evident from the start that it was going to be a landslide victory for PISTOL. Enough was enough, and at the 47-minute mark it was finally halted, and PISTOL was now CH PISTOL!

The legendary Big Apple next challenged CH PISTOL, and he swore that his TWIST dog was going to get the job done. It was back and forth for the first part of the show, but by the 45-minute mark it was evident that CH PISTOL was the better of the two dogs. It was apparent to all that TWIST was indeed a fine specimen of bulldog, but not enough to defeat CH. PISTOL. At just over an hour the crowd saw what true greatness was, and CH PISTOL had just won a huge victory!

After some hard thought, CH PISTOL was brought out of retirement to face Hard Drive Kennel's BOLO, a 2xw and a son of Crenshaw's CH GATOR. This was a classic contest, and the wear and tear on CH PISTOL was easy to see. What was easier to see was the drive that he had to win at every show that he was placed in. At the one hour and five minute mark, he dug deep down inside, and showed once and for all...F.M.K.S GR CH PISTOL was the truth!

CH. Urban Wardog Kennel's RECCA was bred by JA himself. He was sired by Arce's TROUBLE, a direct son of Garner's FRISCO ROM, and his dam was Arce's ANNIE, who was a tight GRCH Coy's BANJO ROM bitch. EO of UWK purchased the dog directly from JA as an eleven-month old pup and waited till the dog was fifteen months before his first bump against a much larger and older dog. RECCA was again rolled after three months with a dog of the same weight then later he was brought by EO's brother to a friend's place to be rolled two more times. The first was against another dog which was two pounds heavier and the second was with a dog that was four pounds heavier this time. When EO asked how RECCA was in the pit and was told that he displayed impressive defensive skills aside from straight offense, EO decided to open RECCA's weight at 36 lbs.

RECCA's first challenge came by way of JFK's RADICAL 1xW. At that time RADIC's littermate CH. DGK's PEDI 6xW, 2xL, was just making waves in the circuit and another littermate, Ragtag's (JFK's) GREMLIN showed incredible gameness against Deep South's TOMBOY. RADICAL would surely be a tough challenge for the first-timer. Both dogs made weight and immediately began swapping holds. RECCA, who was then 2 years and months old, eventually managed a solid hold on RADICAL's neck, but the older and much experienced dog was able to shake it loose and ride RECCA with an ear hold then both dogs began swapping it out again. RADICAL kept on pushing but RECCA changed tactics and played it smart by staying out of trouble then went for solid holds at RADICAL's neck and front end when even RECCA felt the latter grow weaker. By the 15 minute mark, RADICAL was down and was able to pull down RECCA and took him by the neck then by the ear then got up to continue swapping holds. As the swapping commenced, RECCA took RADICAL by the muzzle and popped a bleeder. The continuous blood flow weakened RADICAL and was down by the half hour mark while RECCA continued to punish his opponent's front end, muzzle and neck. The first out of hold count was completed at 0:32, with RADICAL to scratch. RADICAL took a few steps from his corner and his owner called a stop to the match, making RECCA a 1xW. RECCA then made a nice courtesy.

RECCA was given by EO a year off before he was contracted to go against a dog gunning for his championship, PSK’s UNO 2xW. The contracted weight was again 36 lbs and it was war when the two gladiators met in the pit upon release. The crowd in attendance exchanged jeers and cheers as both dogs refused to give up an inch and swapped vicious holds with one another with no signs of stopping. But at 0:33, RECCA was able to pin UNO to the carpet and punish his neck, front end and stifle. Whenever UNO tried to get up, RECCA would pin him back down by punishing the front end once more or with an ear hold. UNO tried to show resilience and was able to get back up on all fours by the 0:54 mark but was immediately put down seconds later by RECCA. Two minutes later, RECCA lets go of his hold, but the out of hold count was never completed as EO would just let his dog rest for a few seconds and send him back again. The out of hold count was only completed when the clock hit 1:03 and the scratching began with UNO first to go. But upon release, UNO refused to budge from his corner. RECCA on the other hand shot out of his own corner and became a 2xW.

With two impressive wins in the bag, the next obvious step for EO and RECCA was a shot at the championship. UWK found Crossroad’s BIG MAC 1xW a willing opponent and the match was again set at 36 lbs. On the match date, RECCA, who was by then three years and nine months old, came in two pounds below the contracted weight. Still, the weight difference did not seem to deter RECCA as upon release he showed more intensity and better focus. Upon release, RECCA shot for his opponent's stifle and immediately put BIG MAC down. RECCA then changed tactics by taking vicious shots at BIG MAC's front end then worked his way to BIG MAC's head and muzzle. RECCA kept the pressure on. Whenever BIG MAC would try to retaliate, RECCA would move out of harm's way while at the same time looking for an opening to continue the punishment. In just twelve minutes, both of BIG MAC's frontend had swollen profusely and kept on bleeding. By the quarter hour mark, BIG MAC was obviously out classed as RECCA never gave him leave to get up while the punishment continued. By 0:17, BIG MAC was picked up and gave a courtesy scratch while RECCA was crowned a champion.

ZINETTI'S BLOODY MARY 4W

In the early Fall of 1997 I bred my CH AZRA R.O.M. to Bijeljina Boys’ CH BELI, who was part of one of the greatest litters ever born here. He was a littermate brother to Bijeljina Boys’ GR CH CRNOOKI 5W, CH BELA 3W, SARENKO 2W and SIVI 1D R.O.M. AZRA was also part of another real successful litters born here. Unfortunately, the breed­ing was unsuccessful so I called Bijeljina Boys and said that I don’t want my money back, instead I would just come again with CH AZRA R.O.M. on her next heat. They agreed so when that time came I did it. But this time I choose AZRA to be bred to GR CH CRNOOKI. The breeding was a total outcross, but I never looked too much at pedigrees, I looked at performance. I always did breedings looking for really good pit performer, especially if they were from an exceptionally good litter or from a proven bloodline. This time I had better luck and a litter of 8 pups was born on 13 June 1998 in my yard. I kept 4 pups for myself but a black female with white markings was my pick of the litter. I named her BLOODY MARY.

MARY she was hot and fully started at 3 months, she had perfect motor skills and she was an extremely noisy bitch. She was hyperactive and could run and bark whole day. MARY’s schooling started early and she showed to be a very good pick. She showed super air, great talent, a hard mouth and speed. During her rolls opponents never lasted long. She was way too fast for them. Usually after high pres­sure from MARY, they broke down, before the 20 min mark. When she was 20 months old I tested her with 4 females. Yes, you read it right, with 4 females. Each for 10 min against MARY. She was better against the first 2 and even with last 2 opponents. MARY wasn’t on her back even once. She was ready to be matched.

At that time Kaman Kennels from Italy was very interested in BLOODY MARY, they saw her in one of her rolls and wanted to buy her. That was not an option since I had big plans for MARY’s match career, plus as a brood bitch. But they were persistent and waited a couple of months until I needed some cash. Kaman arrived to my house and I said I would not sell her before I get pups out of her. He said, “No problem, you can have her puppies, but I will match her”. He offered a really big amount of money for her on top of that. So BLOODY MARY was sold. 

Kaman Kennels contracted her as soon as he got back home. Her 1st opponent was Scream Kennels MEGY, a daughter of Lakeman’s CH GUS x Nenad’s TINA 2W 1L (belly sister to my CH AZRA R.O.M.). The agreed weight was 16.4 kg (36 lbs). It was even early, but then MARY pulled ahead hard and MEGY was picked up at 22 min. Only few months after BLOODY MARY had her 2nd match into Sacoci Kennels’ LAMETTA, who was out of DOC x MARGO. The match was set at 17 kg (37.4 lbs) and LAMETTA didn't had any chance. BLOODY MARY barnstormed her from the start, LAMETTA quit on herfirst scratch at 27 min and MARY was a 2W. After the match Kaman Kennels returned BLOODY MARY to my yard as it was agreed, because I wanted to breed her to my RIOS who was also a 2W at that time. The breeding was not successful and I returned MARY back to be matched again. One day I got a call from Brian from Sud America Kennels and he said that he have just purchased BLOODY MARY. I was surprised and asked what happened. He said that Kaman Kennels had some problems with the law and got out of dogs. Brian owned two littermates of BLOODY MARY al­ready. A brood bitch named VICKY and a deep game male CRNOOKI JR. He claimed that CRNOOKI JR. was the gamest dog he have ever seen. Brian contracted MARY for her Championship match. He traveled all the way to South of Italy to meet Corrado’s NINA 1W. Corrado was one of the oldtimers there and NINA was imported from the USA, from the popular GR. CH. YELLOW ROM bloodline. Thematch was contracted at 16.7 kg (36.7 lbs). It was a real war, NINA was rid­ing the head and tried to keep MARY off. She was doing a good job until 15 mins when MARY increased the pace and NINA couldn’t keep up. MARY was stronger and could bite way hard­er. NINA was outclassed fast, with hard chest & shoulder holds. Corrado picked her up at 37 min. NINA ran a deadgame scratch, she died the next day.

some problems and sold all of his dogs fast, including CH. BLOODY MARY. Her new owner was Spoken Pit from south of Italy. He saw her last show and he wanted to show her again. He contracted her for her 4th against Peppe’s NIKITA 1W who was a sister to Kozina Kennels’ ZIKO JR. Spoken Pit was known as one who already lost lots of matches, he always brought his dogs in bad shape, which he also did with MARY. She was weak and looked very tired. NIKITA was a very good female and she did lots of damage to MARY. She went into the chest and in the back legs. MARY rode the head trying to do something. Finally, NIKITA slowed it down a bit and MARY hit hard in the shoulders, it was payback time. MARY started to kick NIKITA’s ass, both ran 1 game scratch and then NIKITA was picked up at 38 min. She ran one more deep game scratch, but died after. CH. BLOODY MARY was a 4W. After that I called Spoken Pit to buy her back. At first he wasn't interested, but after couple of weeks he agreed and BLOODY MARY was back in my yard in Croatia again. She was 5 years old then and on her first heat I bred her to my CH. VILI II but she got no pups. So, I started to look for an opponent for her 5th match. My intentions were to find the best opponent possible for her. I called everybody who had a winner at that weight but with no luck. I called Psycho Kennels about CH. SHILA 3W from Serbia, she was sister to Toske’s famous CH. BLACK MUP, but she was full of puppies then. Later I called Mate’s for his GARA 2W again, the same female which was supposed to go into MARY’s sister NIRVANA. We agreed a match ,but believe it or not, GARA died during the keep. 

After a long time, I almost gave up my hopes to match her for her GR CH title, but then Hazard Kennels took our challenge. The match was set at 17.5 kg (38.51bs). Since MARY wasn’t so young I wanted not to dry her too much. The date of the match was set on 12 March 2005 and MARY was exactly 6 years and 9 months old then, without 2 big fangs in her mouth. Hazard Kennels had his PEPICA female, she was a 2W and a 2x O.T.C. winner, out of Jedinko’s GIZ­MA. Both females were experienced 4W and we expected a good Show. CH.BLOODY MARY 4W was going for the GR. CH.title while PEPICA 2W, 2x O.T.C. was going for the CH. title. BLOODY MARY was known to be a hardmouthed finisher and PEPI­CA as a hardmouthed face/nose bitch. Both females never had their matches lasting longer than 40 min! BLOODY MARY was in great condition and I was calm. The match started furiously, PEPICA went on the nose/muzzle and MARY went in the chest, there was lot of blood everywhere after few minutes. Both worked fast paced, both knew what to do. PEPICA worked the face & shoulders, MARY was deep into the chest & throat. At 16 min. mark PEPI­CA hit a heavy bleeding artery in thefront leg of MARY. Blood was pumping out 2-3 feet in front of MARY. I was shocked, I couldn't believe that it was going to happen this way. Right during that time MARY was in the better position, at least her breathing was much better than PEPICA who already was breathing hard. I waited 2 min to see if the blood would stop, but it isn’t and I was forced to pick MARY up at 20 min to stop that blood loss. MARY ran her courtesy scratch like a rocket and we took care of her bleeder. She was ok 5 min after, acting ready to continue, but it was all over 2nd she lost a chance to earn her GR CH title. It was a bad luck that night, but CH BLOODY MARY was still well and alive. If I didn’t stop that match, she probably would have lost too much blood, got weak and die. This way, this tremendous bitch was still with me, with who she be­longed. CH BLOODY MARY was retired at the yard of my friends from Italy where she lived a life of luxury as she deserved it.The final result of an out-crossed litter of of GR. CH. CRNOOKI x CH.AZRA R.O.M. is CH. BLOODY MARY 4W, 1L, NIRVANA 1W and CRNOOKI JR. 1L game. I was right the whole time, believing that winners would produce winners anyway, or at least respectable deep game losers, no matter if they are totally out-crossed with even 6 or 7 different bloodlines in their pedigree.
